Fungus weevils (family Anthribidae) are primitive curculionoid beetles closely related to the Nemonychidae family. The family comprises about 3,000 species in 365 genera. Three subfamilies are known two of which occur in Australia - Anthribinae, the most diverse (42 genera) and Choraginae (6 genera in three tribes) (Pullen et al. 2014). There are many undescribed genera and species.
